People First Stadium is shining a little brighter after a full upgrade of the under-canopy sports lights, providing more reliable, effective and energy efficient lighting for the venue.
The hybrid lighting solution with LED luminaires illuminates the playing field to maintain broadcasting standards for AFL and cricket and add to the theatre of events at the venue.
Stadiums Queensland Group Executive, Assets & Facilities David Spencer said the newer technology provides a range of additional benefits for the venue and hirers.
“The light fittings can be operated from within the venue control room or from a mobile device from within the venue, which allows hirers to control lighting specific to their event while maintaining the integrity of the venue’s lighting control design,” Mr Spencer said.
“We are constantly looking to provide the latest technology to Stadiums Queensland’s venues to ensure the best experience for players and patrons, and this upgrade will ensure People First Stadium remains world-class.”
The upgrades also include a replenishment of light fittings to the existing lighting towers, providing a significant lift in light across the venue.
The new technology replaces 136 redundant light fittings which have been responsibly repurposed at a regional Queensland venue.
